Was jujitsu illegal in Australia in the 1950s?
I have heard that jujitsu was illegal in Australia in the 1950s so people studying jujitsu also learnt judo as a cover, which was legal at that time. Is this story true? Was jujitsu illegal then? If so when was it legalised?
Maybe you are referring to Japanese jujitsu which includes illegal moves, death chokes, eye poking as the main goal is to win by any means necessary. To answer your question, I do not understand why jujitsu per se would be illegal, unless it has something political to do with nothing japanese as legal
